About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The RN, School Nurse provides direct care to students in a school setting.
- The care includes treating injuries, acute illness, chronic disease management and long-term management for students with special health care needs.
- You will act as a liaison between school personnel, family, health care professionals and the community through communication.
- In this role, you will screen for health conditions and health problems as required.
- You will also be responsible for health care education of students, parents, teachers and other school personnel.
- This is a leadership role in which you will lead health policies and programs, health promotion and protections and chronic disease management.
- The role also requires coordination of school health programs, school wellness policies, mental health protection and intervention and more.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited college
- 2 years of experience in nursing is preferred, preferably in pediatric, school health or public health nursing
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Ohio
- Must be registered and licensed with the Ohio Department of Education and pass the required background check before starting
- Valid driver’s license
