About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- A Patient Care Tech (PCT) at ProMedica plays a vital role in the health and safety of our patients every day.
- From caring for patients to performing clerical services, a PCT helps all members of the ProMedica health care team while complying with standards, procedures and policies.
- The PCT assists the patient care team with exams, procedures, obtaining patient data and other processes related to direct patient care.
- The PCT also ensures an appropriate stock of supplies and equipment is available and functioning properly.
- In this role, you will perform tasks related to scheduling procedures, coordinating admission as well as discharge and transfer processes.
- PCTs answer phones, take messages and direct calls.
- You will also pick up and delivers specimens, documents and other items to contribute to operational efficiency.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills, ability to read and write, and communicate or respond to inquiries.
- CPR certification prior to performing direct care; training provided.
- Previous experience in a medical setting preferable.
