About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with benign hematologic disorders, including but not limited to: Anemia, Coagulation disorders, Thrombocytopenia and thrombocytosis, and Ordering blood/blood products.
  • Conduct detailed history and physical assessments, interpret diagnostic studies, and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Perform and/or assist with procedures within scope (e.g., bone marrow biopsies, therapeutic phlebotomy, infusion-related care).
  • Collaborate closely with hematologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated care.
  • Lead and support Patient Blood Management (PBM) initiatives, including Optimization of hemoglobin and iron stores prior to procedures, Minimization of unnecessary transfusions, and Implementation of evidence-based transfusion thresholds.
  • Provide specialized management for patients who decline blood products (e.g., bloodless care pathways).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master of Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing (DNP) degree for Nurse Practitioner applicants.
  • Master’s degree for Physician Assistant applicants.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state(s) where care is provided.
  • Certificate of Authority to practice.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) certification(s) applicable to your role (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.).
  • Commitment to ongoing continuing medical education (CME) and professional development.
