About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Leading development activities for land and building developments.
- Managing the entitlement, design and permitting processes.
- Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Establishing ownership and accountability for all assigned projects with an emphasis on meeting deadlines and deliverable expectations.
- Collaborating with all stakeholders.
- Accountability for your development portfolio performance (design, cost, schedule, quality, safety).
- Mentoring and leading junior colleagues by providing feedback, overseeing performance, sharing expertise and honing judgement skills.
- Driving impact through utilization of lean construction, GC bid negotiations and design optimization initiatives against targets.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in a similar role working in the field of Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Experience in local industrial development, land municipal approvals, and construction.
- Experience managing large scale and complicated sitework projects.
- Experience leading build-to-suit projects, including leading coordination efforts with customer and customer’s vendors.
- Proficiency in budget management and reporting.
- Self-motivated and ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal direction.
- Computer proficiency: MS Project, Google Earth, ACAD viewer (in addition to normal Microsoft tools).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide clear and concise understanding of all current projects and their statuses.
- Experience with managing entitlement processes in the DC metro area.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time between our DC metro area offices - Columbia, MD or Sterling, VA.
