About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute an annual potato market business plan
- Build and manage long-term relationships with key potato growers
- Create demand for ProFarm's biological products and increase market share
- Manage the sales process through the CRM system
- Establish product-specific goals with assigned growers and monitor progress
- Develop and implement grower demonstrations
- Coordinate with Territory Account Managers and distribution partners to support grower customers
- Meet or exceed agreed-upon sales goals
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Field Development, R&D, and administrative teams
- Represent ProFarm at industry meetings, conferences, and potato-market events
- Lead responses to product performance inquiries and customer questions
- Identify market opportunities and provide insights on customer needs, competitive activity, and product performance
- Travel extensively throughout the assigned Midwest territory, including field visits, customer meetings, conferences, and other commercial activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Agriculture, or a related field
- At least three years of experience selling pesticide products or other relevant agricultural products or services
- Experience working directly with growers and agricultural market influencers
- Potato-market experience is highly valuable
- PCA or CCA, or willing and able to obtain the appropriate credential within one year of joining ProFarm
- Familiarity with biological products and biopesticides; direct biopesticide experience preferred but not required
- Ability to build relationships with growers, PCAs, CCAs, distributors, and industry partners
- Ability to communicate, advise, negotiate, and influence customers and stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple accounts, projects, priorities, and travel demands
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Comfortable working in agricultural production environments, including walking through fields and evaluating pest populations and crop conditions in varying weather conditions
- Able to drive for extended periods and travel routinely throughout the territory by car and air
- Able to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Able to lift approximately 40 pounds
- Able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods when needed
