About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct full-cycle sales activities with key growers and market influencers
  • Develop and implement an annual Territory Business Plan
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with territory retail customers
  • Build relationships with key growers to create demand for ProFarm’s product portfolio and increase market share
  • Manage the sales process through a CRM system
  • Implement grower demonstrations
  • Establish product-specific goals with assigned growers and monitor progress
  • Communicate with the Head of Sales to ensure growers are properly serviced by the distribution channel
  • Meet or exceed agreed-upon sales goals
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, R&D and administrative teams
  • Participate, present and/or display at industry meetings
  • Lead product performance inquiries in the assigned territory
  • Spend approximately 90% of time working directly with retailers, growers and key market influencers
  • Travel routinely domestically by car or air, including possible weekends and overnight trips

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. degree in Life Sciences or an agriculture-related field
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of sales experience with crop protection products or other relevant experience
  • Bio-pesticide experience is preferred, but not required
  • Must reside within the assigned territory
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to drive for extended periods
  • Ability to lift at least 40+/- pounds
  • Ability to walk in and around agricultural production sites in all weather conditions
  • Ability to communicate, advise, negotiate or influence others
  • Planning skills to organize, prioritize, schedule and coordinate multiple projects
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to present information in written, verbal and software formats such as email, public speaking and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel domestically 60%–70% of the time
  • Overnight travel to annual meetings/conferences and other meetings required
  • Pre-employment background check required
