About the role

  • Migration & Mapping: Lead the technical mapping of legacy SAP ASE / Sybase data attributes to Okta user profiles.
  • Data Architecture: Develop and implement the data architecture strategy.
  • Performance & Optimization: Oversee monitoring, installation, troubleshooting, and tuning of databases.
  • ETL & Pipeline Oversight: Collaborate with engineers to build and validate data pipelines.
  • Security & Governance: Enforce robust database security controls and data quality standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Formulate long-term strategies for database optimization and risk reduction.
  • Production Support: Provide expert-level operational support for SAP ASE / Sybase environments.
  • Logic Extraction & Reverse Engineering: Analyze and document complex legacy stored procedures.
  • Performance Engineering: Perform deep-dive query optimization and indexing strategies.
  • Replication Oversight: Manage and troubleshoot Sybase Replication Server for data consistency.

Requirements

  • Sybase Expertise: 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ASE / Sybase administration.
  • Expert-Level T-SQL: 10+ years of Mastery of SAP ASE / Sybase T-SQL.
  • Data Modeling: 4+ Years of Proven experience in schema design and data modeling.
  • Cloud Data Integration: Experience with cloud-native ETL and data integration tools.
  • Identity Awareness: Familiarity with Identity and Access Management concepts.
  • Governance & Compliance: Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and data governance practices.
  • Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Performance Tuning: Proven track record of identifying bottlenecks and remediating poorly performing queries.
  • System Internals Knowledge: Deep understanding of SAP ASE / Sybase internals.
