About the role
- Manage and actively participate in all day-to-day parts department operations.
- Support parts counter activity, order processing, and customer issue resolution.
- Oversee inventory levels, purchasing, stocking strategies, and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Own parts pricing, margins, and revenue performance for the Illinois location.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, OEMs, and suppliers; negotiate pricing and terms.
- Lead, train, and develop parts team members while setting clear expectations and driving accountability.
- Monitor key performance indicators, including sales performance, inventory turns, obsolescence, and fill rates.
- Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements, efficiency, and cost control.
- Collaborate closely with Service and Sales teams to support customers and internal workflows.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready parts department.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of parts experience, preferably in heavy-duty, towing, trucking, or automotive environments
- Prior experience as a Parts Manager, Lead Parts Specialist, or in a senior parts role
- Strong working knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, pricing, and vendor relations
- Demonstrated ability to work hands-on alongside a team and lead by example
- Comfort being actively involved in daily counter and operational work
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency with parts and inventory management systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment
- Valid driver’s license required.
