About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and actively participate in all day-to-day parts department operations.
  • Support parts counter activity, order processing, and customer issue resolution.
  • Oversee inventory levels, purchasing, stocking strategies, and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and availability.
  • Own parts pricing, margins, and revenue performance for the Illinois location.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, OEMs, and suppliers; negotiate pricing and terms.
  • Lead, train, and develop parts team members while setting clear expectations and driving accountability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including sales performance, inventory turns, obsolescence, and fill rates.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Collaborate closely with Service and Sales teams to support customers and internal workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready parts department.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–8+ years of parts experience, preferably in heavy-duty, towing, trucking, or automotive environments
  • Prior experience as a Parts Manager, Lead Parts Specialist, or in a senior parts role
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, pricing, and vendor relations
  • Demonstrated ability to work hands-on alongside a team and lead by example
  • Comfort being actively involved in daily counter and operational work
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Proficiency with parts and inventory management systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Valid driver’s license required.
