About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and deliver new beverage and nutrition products from concept through to commercialisation
- Create and optimise formulations, prototypes, and lab trials, focusing on flavour, functionality, stability, and cost
- Manage multiple client projects, ensuring timelines, feasibility, and delivery are met
- Collaborate with customers, internal teams, suppliers, and third-party partners to support development and launch
- Ensure formulations meet regulatory, nutritional, and quality requirements
- Support scale-up, pilot trials, production runs, and troubleshooting activities
- Provide technical expertise and maintain accurate documentation and product specifications
- Identify and apply industry trends to drive innovation and generate new product concepts
- Support customer presentations, innovation sessions, and business development activities
- Work cross-functionally to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Product Development, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years’ experience in beverage formulation and product development, ideally with functional and sports nutrition focused drinks.
- Experience working with external beverage manufacturers or co-packers.
- Strong understanding of beverage ingredients, functionality, and processing.
- Knowledge of functional ingredients, flavour systems, sweeteners, and beverage stabilisation.
- Knowledge of UK food regulations and labelling requirements.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Beverage formulation and ingredient expertise.
- Product innovation and creative problem-solving.
- Sensory evaluation and product optimisation.
