About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Group Accounting Leadership & Target Operating Model
- Functional and disciplinary leadership as well as further development of Group Accounting
- Define and implement a group-wide operating model (structures, responsibilities, collaboration with local teams)
- Drive the transformation from decentralized units to a centralized organization
- Overall responsibility for the group’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Ensure preparation of accounts in accordance with HGB and IFRS reporting
- Coordinate statutory audits and act as the central point of contact for external auditors
- Ensure high data quality and consistent reporting standards across the group
- Develop and maintain group-wide accounting policies (IFRS)
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and legal requirements
- Establish and enhance internal control systems and governance structures within accounting
- Ensure compliance with tax requirements and reporting obligations in the respective entities in close cooperation with local finance teams, tax advisors and authorities
- Coordinate and oversee group-wide tax processes, including corporate tax, VAT and transfer pricing matters
- Serve as the point of contact for tax-related questions relating to accounting, reporting and corporate structure
- Support tax audits and examinations and coordinate external tax advisors
- Manage and develop cash management and payment operations
- Responsible for bank reconciliations, account structures and payment processes from an accounting perspective
- Collaborate with banks and internal stakeholders on financing-related matters
- Standardize and optimize closing and reporting processes
- Enhance systems and tools in Group Accounting
- Ensure efficient and scalable end-to-end processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Economics/Finance or equivalent qualification
- Several years of experience in external audit (e.g., as a Senior Consultant at one of the Big Four), (group) accounting or consolidated financial reporting
- Solid knowledge of HGB and IFRS
- Experience working with external auditors
- Strong understanding of processes, governance and internal control systems
- Business-fluent English is essential in an international environment
- Very good German language skills
