About the role
- Deal Sourcing: Conduct market research and actively seek out promising investment opportunities and conduct initial screens
- Due Diligence: Perform thorough due diligence including financial analysis, market assessment, competitive landscape evaluation, and team assessment; independently run diligence processes
- Financial Analysis: Own analyses including financial, market sizing, unit economics, and cap table modeling
- Portfolio Support: Provide ongoing support to existing portfolio companies by coordinating with the portfolio impact team
- Incubations: Support incubation work with Primary Labs and assist in launching new businesses
- Market Insights: Stay on top of industry trends, surface regular market insights, and lead thematic deep dives
- Network Expansion: Cultivate relationships with founders, industry experts, operators, and other investors
- Thought Leadership: Represent the firm at industry events and support brand building initiatives
- Firm Building: Support Partners with LP reporting and other firm building initiatives
Requirements
- Must be available to work full-time in NYC
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in venture capital or related investing roles with a demonstrated interest in Vertical AI and early stage investing
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: capable of independently running with business ideas with substantial ambiguity
- Deeply curious: strong desire to become an expert in an industry or business model
- Analytical-thinker: strong grasp of what makes a good business; comfortable with financial statements & models
- Relationship-builder: comfortable developing relationships with industry leaders and strong understanding of the VC ecosystem
- Fast-learner: able to learn rapidly, develop strong point of view, and communicate compelling narratives
- Strong communicator: excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in the US / will be asked about sponsorship during application
