About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the end-to-end engineering lifecycle for web platforms, ensuring performance, scalability, reliability, and SLA compliance across environments.
Set technical strategy and roadmap in partnership with product and business leaders, prioritizing modernization, performance, and customer experience outcomes – based on experience with modern design best practices.
Drive agile delivery and financial discipline to ensure initiatives are delivered on time and within budget.
Own the overall design for integrations and oversee new backend systems and infrastructure.
Establish and oversee the engineering operating model.
Provide leadership to contracted developers and technical resources.
Work with internal and external partners to develop a new modern, secure and scalable architecture for a new portal platform.
Step into technical problem solving during critical incidents or escalations as needed.
Represent web technology in executive forums, communicating progress, risks, and opportunities while influencing enterprise digital strategy.

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of progressive leadership experience within engineering or IT organizations focused on digital platforms and customer experience.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and / or military experience
Expertise in large-scale web platform architecture, performance optimization, and site reliability engineering.
Demonstrated experience shaping long-term technology strategy and aligning engineering investments to business goals.
Demonstrated experience leading successful software development lifecycle execution across modern web technologies and agile methodologies.
