About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with the setup, configuration, and basic maintenance of security tools and platforms under senior engineer supervision
- Participate in onboarding new clients, including integrating initial data sources
- Collaborate with team members to support daily operations and follow standard procedures
- Troubleshoot common technical issues and escalate complex incidents appropriately
- Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and team learning initiatives
- Support audit preparation and basic system monitoring activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
- 1–2 years of experience in a cybersecurity, IT support, or SOC environment; internships or co-op experience acceptable
- Exposure to SIEM platforms such as Elastic, Logz.io, or Azure Sentinel
- Familiarity with security logging and event management
- Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, syslog, Linux/Unix, Windows, and Active Directory
- Comfortable working in command-line environments
- Basic scripting skills using Bash, PowerShell, or similar
- Strong desire to learn and grow within cybersecurity, with a generalist mindset
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
- Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft SC-900 are encouraged but not required
- Must be a US Citizen
