About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage and support multiple database platforms, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MongoDB
Ensure database performance, availability, and reliability across environments
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues in production systems
Implement best practices for database maintenance, backups, and recovery
Collaborate with engineering teams to support application development and data needs
Optimize queries and database structures for performance and scalability
Support ongoing growth of data infrastructure as new data sources are introduced
Design, implement, and maintain monitoring dashboards in Datadog
Create meaningful alerts that reduce noise and improve operational awareness
Define service-level indicators (SLIs), service-level objectives (SLOs), and alert thresholds
Develop monitoring strategies for databases, applications, infrastructure, and cloud services
Build executive, operational, and engineering dashboards.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), ideally in a senior-level role
Hands-on experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases
Experience working with diverse data sources and environments
Solid understanding of database performance tuning and optimization
Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a growing, fast-paced team environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience with Datadog monitoring and alerting
Experience designing operational dashboards and observability strategies
Knowledge of SRE principles and reliability engineering practices.
