About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Inspect and assess medical equipment to identify service needs, diagnose operational issues, and recommend repair or maintenance solutions
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections on surgical microscopes and related equipment according to OEM and company standards
  • Expand service contracts, generate leads, and convert prospects into long-term service clients within the assigned territory
  • Build and maintain relationships with surgeons, physicians, and hospital administrators
  • Educate healthcare professionals about Prescott's repair, refurbishment, and maintenance services
  • Travel to customer sites for hands-on service work, service-focused meetings, and proactive outreach
  • Sell refurbished microscopes, parts, accessories, and long-term service agreements
  • Respond to multiple weekly service calls, prioritize urgent repairs, and resolve issues quickly
  • Ensure service activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Represent Prescott's at industry conferences and trade shows to showcase service capabilities, engage clients, and strengthen brand awareness

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years of experience demonstrating mechanical and/or technical aptitude, preferably with practical experience in troubleshooting, repairing, or maintaining complex equipment
  • Drive to achieve sales targets and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Ability to sell service agreements, parts, and refurbished equipment through value-based selling techniques
  • Strong consultative sales skills to uncover customer needs and propose tailored solutions
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals including surgeons and hospital administrators
  • Ability to learn and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation to closing and post-sale follow-up
  • Highly organized with strong time management and ability to prioritize in a dynamic, service-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability in the field
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently
  • Commitment to exceptional service and long-term client relationships
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory, typically 60–80%
  • Experience working with medical or industrial equipment preferred
  • Experience with CRM systems (NetSuite) and field service software a plus
