About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of large-scale React Native mobile applications.
  • Design solutions that support long-term scalability, maintainability, performance, and security.
  • Build and enhance shared mobile frameworks, reusable components, design systems, and platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, Security, and Engineering partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Architect and implement integrations with REST APIs, GraphQL services, authentication platforms, and cloud-based services.
  • Drive adoption of CI/CD, automated testing, release automation, and modern engineering practices.
  • Improve application reliability through observability, monitoring, crash analytics, logging, and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across Android and iOS platforms.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations that improve developer productivity and user experience.
  • Perform technical design reviews and provide guidance across multiple engineering teams.
  • Mentor and coach engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Influence engineering standards, mobile architecture strategy, and platform roadmaps.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing React Native applications in production environments.
  • Experience building and supporting applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React Native, and modern mobile application architecture patterns.
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Experience with mobile testing frameworks, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver highly scalable, maintainable, and performant solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with native mobile development using Swift and/or Kotlin.
  • Experience implementing GraphQL in mobile applications.
  • Experience with mobile security best practices, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and secure authentication flows.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services and modern cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with observability platforms, crash reporting, and application monitoring tools.
  • Experience with App Store and Google Play release processes.
  • Experience implementing accessibility standards and responsive mobile design.
  • Experience working in healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar technologies.
