About the role
- Assess value of current cutting tools as well as investigate and assess new tooling technology for continual process improvement
- Assist Machining Supervisors and Programmers in proper selection of tooling on new projects with the intent of maximizing productivity
- Perform the role of “technical consultant” in support of the machining operation
- Assist with programming needs and support
- Assist with assessing the needs of the machining organization through PIT discussions and CNC programming hardware and software needs
- Assist in CAR investigations to better understand root cause and prevention of non-conformances throughout the operation
- Write and maintain as required all TIL’s (Tool Information Letter)
- Create Tooling Drawings
- Provide Speed & Feed information and all necessary parameter data within the TDM system
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred
- 10 years NC programming/Fixturing are equivalent for degree replacement
- Intermediate computer skills including experience with Mastercam & TDM tool data management
- A minimum of ten years in manufacturing with experience in CNC programming preferred
