About the role

  • Assess value of current cutting tools as well as investigate and assess new tooling technology for continual process improvement
  • Assist Machining Supervisors and Programmers in proper selection of tooling on new projects with the intent of maximizing productivity
  • Perform the role of “technical consultant” in support of the machining operation
  • Assist with programming needs and support
  • Assist with assessing the needs of the machining organization through PIT discussions and CNC programming hardware and software needs
  • Assist in CAR investigations to better understand root cause and prevention of non-conformances throughout the operation
  • Write and maintain as required all TIL’s (Tool Information Letter)
  • Create Tooling Drawings
  • Provide Speed & Feed information and all necessary parameter data within the TDM system

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred
  • 10 years NC programming/Fixturing are equivalent for degree replacement
  • Intermediate computer skills including experience with Mastercam & TDM tool data management
  • A minimum of ten years in manufacturing with experience in CNC programming preferred
