About the role
- Lead integrated PR programs for high-profile sports and entertainment clients, driving culture-driving ideas with business results
- Report directly to Sports and Entertainment practice leads
- Manage earned media, influencer and social strategies, integrating channels into holistic campaigns
- Develop and manage brand partnerships and talent relationships, including contract oversight
- Manage budgets, SOWs, staffing, financial oversight and profitability targets across multiple accounts
- Implement workflow systems to improve team efficiency and ensure high-quality campaign delivery
- Provide strategic counsel to clients, deepening relationships and serving as trusted advisor
- Lead creative ideation, newsjacking and trend-to-earned ideas; approve creative concepts, pitches, events and earned tactics
- Oversee deck development, written materials and deliver high-stakes client presentations
- Guide data analysis and reporting, align KPIs with client objectives and recommend measurement tools
- Provide employee development, formal feedback, coaching sessions and hiring input
- Oversee large-scale social initiatives and integrate paid, earned and owned media for campaigns
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience, primarily focused on sports and entertainment clients
- Endemic knowledge preferred in soccer, running, motorsports, and golf
- Fluency across traditional and emerging media (broadcast, print, digital, podcasts, Substacks, newsfluencers)
- Proven experience developing and managing brand partnerships with athletes and other talent
- Appetite for and experience using AI for research, workflow optimization, ideation and creative development
- Comfortable managing budgets of all sizes, SOWs, staffing and related processes
- Expertise in strategic planning, creative ideation and cross-channel execution
- Experience with earned media, influencer and social media campaign development and oversight
- Strong presentation skills and experience delivering high-stakes presentations
- Ability to lead teams, provide formal feedback, coach employees and contribute to hiring decisions
- Preferred candidate location: Chicago or New York (US); open to other US locations
