About the role
- Manage PRA’s relationships with Third-Party Debt Collection Agencies, including sourcing, onboarding, and ongoing management
- Perform responsibilities of a Vendor Relationship Owner per PRA policy
- Manage agency performance to meet or exceed collection targets and develop/maintain Agency Performance and Control Reporting
- Execute all first line Agency Management testing and controls and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
- Ensure proper execution of agency placement, recall, and inventory management processes
- Ensure PRA systems are updated with data, payments and notes detailing actions taken at agency partners
- Maintain strong relationships with Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), Corporate Compliance and Corporate Audit Services (CAS)
- Use data and analysis to provide insight into business performance and recommend process and strategy improvements
- Represent PRA at industry events and maintain professionalism in interactions
- Build relationships with business stakeholders and cross-functional support teams to identify needs and deliver solutions
- Monitor and evaluate work quality, efficiency, and productivity; manage, train, and develop assigned employees
- Interview, train, appraise employees, complete performance appraisals and disciplinary actions, and resolve complaints
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or demonstrable equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience
- 5-10 years of experience managing collections teams at a senior level
- Experience identifying improvement opportunities, designing, and building processes and systems
- Experience navigating and negotiating contracts preferred
- Advanced strategic, analytical, project management and leadership skills
- Advanced proficiency with Windows operating systems
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Visio, and Excel
- Experience with project management tools desired
- Advanced ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Advanced ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues
- Advanced ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and process documents
- Ability to train, develop, supervise, and evaluate employees
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship
