About the role
- Execute all defined contract obligations over life of program, and ensure the program is operating within the defined Scope of Work.
- Oversee CMS operations.
- Analyze the best method for distribution, transportation, and storage of chemicals for each program.
- Lead operational business review meetings and present KPIs to customer leadership.
- Support the identification and prioritization of annual cost savings projects and the development of appropriate strategies to meet PPG profitability objectives and customer (guaranteed) cost savings goals.
- Establish and meet inventory targets in line with ASC working capital goals.
- Work with the customer contacts to perform onsite audits to develop Value Added Packaging (VAP) opportunities, cost savings projects, gain share projects, waste reduction projects, produce supporting documentation/forms as required, and give presentations to customers.
- Identify resources, develop, and maintain Project Management timing charts that outline all activities to be accomplished within yearly time frames.
- Assist in training of new chemical coordinators and purchasing people that would be an integral part of the Chemical management program.
- Manage supervisors, coordinators, analysts, material handlers, truck drivers to support customers.
- Support PPG chemical management program when supplier issues/problems arise and implement resolutions.
- Work closely with ASC and corporate purchasing functions to further strengthen supplier contacts and development of strategic partnerships with selected suppliers.
- Assist in developing strategy to use supplier participation across the ASC network involving aerospace CMS programs.
- Implement lean production concepts, including 5s, kaizen, standardized work, and Kanban.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or a business related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
- 5+ years of proven experience in sales, marketing, technology, purchasing, or technical service is required.
- 2+ years of leadership experience in a Manager role.
- Experience in the following areas is beneficial: business process analysis & improvement, lean & six sigma, quality assurance, strategic sourcing, team facilitation, materials management, QAD, enterprise resource planning (ex. SAP), and cost reduction.
- Ability to work with Sales, Marketing, and Business Managers.
- The ability to evaluate the industrial work environment is also a vital skill.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
