About the role

  • Deliver technical support proposition to existing and new customers to drive growth and delivery of sales targets in assigned geography.

  • Champion interdependency developing leading relationships with other refinish departments (other sales regions, marketing, operations, finance, technical, Pinetree, human resources, supply chain).
  • Implementation of a Technical Service plan for the geographical region to ensure existing customer base is retained and supported in assigned segment(s) in both wet paint and dry goods (as relevant per segment).
  • Ensure all technical support activities are based on commercial value/need and prioritise accordingly.
  • Deliver Share-Of-Wallet growth in existing customers.
  • Manage Sales force activities, ensuring disciplined and pro-active updates in accordance with cell/regional objectives.
  • Support key accounts in assigned region to ensure we deliver our technical proposition, minimise customer churn and grow share of wallet.
  • Support and carry out demonstrations and trials with existing and prospect customers.
  • Working closely with BDM’s in region to support target key account Initiatives.
  • Carry out all installations in focus segments in cell/region, to include new wins, upgrades, 2nd schemes.
  • Support wider PPG technical sales team on large/cross regional installs/key projects as required.
  • Provide technical expertise for assigned cell/region to ensure escalation and management of technical issues / trouble shooting.
  • Pro-actively collaborate with core technical team to ensure customers are fully supported technically.
  • Support achievement of area sales budgets in assigned cell/region.
  • Support delivery of growth via both direct (Brown Brothers) and indirect distribution channels ensure a balanced approach in line with our strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in technical role in coatings industry.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Ability to deliver or facilitate technical support information relating to reactive customer requests
  • Ability discover customers’ needs to sell product directly into the market place
  • Organisational skills to compile information, report and assessment/monitoring of customer needs from a technical perspective.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels internally and externally to positively influence others
  • Excellent communicator at all levels, written and verbal.
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Energy, pro-activeness, willingness to collaborate and a one team spirit
  • Fully IT literate
  • Valid Full Driving License.
