About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment
  • Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects
  • Daily travel with independent work structure
  • Provide 24x7 “on-call” services as required
  • Maintain and safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments
  • Battery installations and replacements
  • Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled
  • Communicate availability status to corporate office
  • Maintain company vehicle in safe and operational condition
  • Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, and Expense Reports timely and accurately
  • Maintain technical documentation for study and/or review

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Three years of field experience servicing generator systems, with some experience on 500kw+
  • Proficient with preventative maintenance, retrofitting basic controls, minor ATS repairs, and loadbanking equipment
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, related military experience or equivalent field experience
  • Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming, and replacing failed engine components
  • Operational and functional understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems, able to troubleshoot and repair with minimal direction
  • Ability to read and decipher electronic schematics and troubleshoot discreet mechanical and electronic systems
  • Experience with advanced generator and electric system controls including Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, and policies and procedures
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
  • Must observe all safety standards
