About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment
- Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects
- Daily travel with independent work structure
- Provide 24x7 “on-call” services as required
- Maintain and safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments
- Battery installations and replacements
- Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled
- Communicate availability status to corporate office
- Maintain company vehicle in safe and operational condition
- Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, and Expense Reports timely and accurately
- Maintain technical documentation for study and/or review
Requirements
What you’ll need- Three years of field experience servicing generator systems, with some experience on 500kw+
- Proficient with preventative maintenance, retrofitting basic controls, minor ATS repairs, and loadbanking equipment
- High School diploma or GED equivalent, related military experience or equivalent field experience
- Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming, and replacing failed engine components
- Operational and functional understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems, able to troubleshoot and repair with minimal direction
- Ability to read and decipher electronic schematics and troubleshoot discreet mechanical and electronic systems
- Experience with advanced generator and electric system controls including Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, and policies and procedures
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
- Must observe all safety standards
