About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and manage construction of one large and/or multiple smaller-scale mechanical or multidisciplinary projects.
- Manage projects within established construction budgets to ensure customer satisfaction and installation quality.
- Manage material and labor handling to ensure timely, smooth-running projects.
- Assist in training Project Supervisors, Project Foremen, and Technicians.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost-tracking reports.
- Create, maintain, and follow construction schedules, assigning personnel to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
- Advise on local laws concerning landfills, carting companies, mechanical codes, and permitting.
- Ensure safety practices are followed and work is performed safely and productively.
- Efficiently manage multiple energy-efficiency projects concurrently.
- Prepare and deliver performance evaluations; discipline, train, and counsel assigned personnel when appropriate.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, executives, subcontractors, code-enforcement/permitting agents, engineers, architects, and employees across trades.
- Manage subcontractors according to contractual requirements, internally and onsite.
- Maintain clean and safe worksites, including recycling and waste disposal according to local ordinances.
- Walk project sites before installation to identify specialized equipment and account for scheduled work.
- Verify work correctness and quality against or above customer expectations.
- Monitor, track, and maintain records of materials used and remaining.
- Maintain accurate documentation and execute deliverables in a timely manner.
- Procure storage facilities for project materials and equipment when required.
- Create and maintain project risk plans.
- Oversee project quality assurance requirements.
- Manage projects typically valued from $100K to $5M.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of a High school diploma or GED is required.
- 7+ years of managing government contracts.
- Minimum of 6 years of project management experience in commercial or industrial construction.
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.).
- OSHA 30 certification; if not currently certified, required training will be arranged.
- PMP certification (preferred).
- Ability to climb ladders, kneel, reach, balance, lift up to 40 pounds regularly, work overhead, stand for extended periods, and negotiate uneven terrain.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various climates, including conditioned and unconditioned spaces.
