About the role

  • Perform reconciliations, identify, analyze and resolve discrepancies with the involved departments through review of controls, workflows and source systems
  • Post transactions to the Fixed Assets accounts, as well as review and validate the monthly depreciation calculation, identifying errors and process failures
  • Import and ensure correct accounting of payroll by monitoring and reconciling the payroll interface
  • Maintain confidentiality of Accounting information, safeguarding data not yet disclosed by the insurer
  • Prepare documentation and reports for external audit, providing explanations for variations in balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Contribute to the implementation of new internally developed systems by monitoring, suggesting improvements and performing tests to validate data
  • Analyze annual Chart of Accounts update requirements and monitor necessary changes during the fiscal year
  • Propose simplification and automation of processes to improve efficiency and accuracy and to avoid errors in the financial statements
  • Record monetary updates for judicial deposits and other contingencies
  • Advise employees from other departments on correct accounting treatment of transactions, guiding them on the best way to identify and resolve outstanding questions
  • Review and validate information sent to Accounting from source systems via interfaces, reconciliations, documentation and by comparing control reports produced by the areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting - Active registration with the Regional Accounting Council (CRC)
  • Microsoft Office - Intermediate
  • Preferred: SAP - Basic
  • Preferred: Experience in the Insurance industry - Basic
  • Accounting standards and principles - Basic
