About the role

  • Help increase the number of successful products in the world by telling PostHog's story
  • PostHog: shipping product analytics and an operating system for product teams (open-source roots)
  • Writing engaging newsletters for the "Product for Engineers" audience (~100k subscribers)
  • Owning social content: repackaging long-form content into short, scroll-stopping posts; manage Twitter/X and LinkedIn
  • Pitching and scripting videos to support product launches and internal production
  • Constantly finding ways to share what PostHog is building, why, and how to the world
  • Team: Content; Manager: Andy Vandervell
  • Interview process: culture screen, technical interview, exec interview, SuperDay

Requirements

  • A developer who loves writing: understands the mindset and interests of developers
  • A terminally online social poster: active poster, ideally with a modest following
  • A sense of humor: able to tune into and add to company tone of voice
  • A startup native: familiar with developers and startup founders, early-stage experience
  • Great writing and editing skills: comfortable with long-form newsletters and funny social posts
  • Trends watcher: knows what's happening online in the tech world
  • Talk like a developer, or (better) be one: able to translate technical work into developer language
  • Nice to have: Able to travel
  • Nice to have: Video skills (comfortable on camera or editing short videos)
  • Nice to have: Actually can code (build apps or sites to get developers' attention)
