About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Be familiar with the content of legal documents as well as the theoretical references and subject matter relevant to the area, aiming to ensure high-quality production and editing of assessment materials.
  • Design, edit, and review large-scale external educational assessments of learning, in accordance with guidelines from the Ministry of Education (MEC), to support school pedagogical teams.
  • Design, edit, and review bimonthly assessments aligned with materials provided by Editora Aprende Brasil.
  • Analyze texts, recommendations, and results of public policies related to educational assessment to improve the quality and efficiency of the work.
  • Assist in the construction of assessment items and questionnaires that align with the publisher’s instructional materials and the realities of public schools.
  • Understand and distinguish Classical Test Theory (CTT) from Item Response Theory (IRT) and recognize the importance of their application when developing and editing each item.
  • Organize tests to be administered through items across different types of booklets proposed for each grade and subject area, by skills, according to guidance based on IRT.
  • Produce assessment instruments based on the materials used, analyzing the content of each assessment indicator and verifying consistency with the expected level of learning.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Letters (Languages/Literature) or equivalent, supplemented by postgraduate specialization courses or an MBA.
  • Deep knowledge of Portuguese Language, Mathematics, and Science curricula to be taught in Fundamental Education (grades 1–9).
  • Classroom experience in public schools.
  • Prior experience in developing and editing assessment items/questions.
  • Familiarity with the skills matrices of the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) and SAEB descriptors.
