About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set and execute a comprehensive corporate engagement and revenue strategy.
  • Oversee corporate giving, workplace campaigns, employee engagement and volunteering, corporate foundations, and sector-based fundraising initiatives.
  • Set annual and 24-month revenue targets with the Chief Development Officer.
  • Cultivate, retain, and expand relationships with corporate partners.
  • Oversee a portfolio of key corporate partners and lead high-value, multi-year partnerships.
  • Develop and oversee workplace giving campaigns and employee philanthropy engagement.
  • Lead sector-focused initiatives, including Real Estate and Private Equity/Venture Capital.
  • Manage volunteer fundraising committees and advisory groups.
  • Build and lead the corporate philanthropy team, including hiring a corporate relations manager.
  • Collaborate with Individual Giving, Grants, Community Impact, Communications, and Public Affairs teams.
  • Represent United Way externally as a trusted corporate-community partner.
  • Position corporate partnerships as strategic, long-term investments in United Way’s systems-change work.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in corporate philanthropy, corporate partnerships, CSR, business development, fundraising, or related consulting.
  • Demonstrated success cultivating, securing, and stewarding revenue-generating corporate partnerships.
  • Experience with gifts or sponsorships in the six-figure range strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing and executing integrated corporate engagement strategies involving philanthropy, employee engagement, and sponsorship.
  • Experience managing, coaching, or mentoring team members, and readiness to build and lead a team.
  • Strategic and creative thinking, including developing new paths forward and contributing to strategy development.
  • Strong change management skills and comfort operating in an evolving organization and field.
  • Excitement about fundraising for systems change and United Way’s role as a convener, investor, advocate, and mobilizer.
  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and to the mission of United Way of Massachusetts Bay.
  • BS/BA degree preferred, not required.
