About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Generate acquisition strategies independently and with business unit leaders
  • Source and screen acquisition targets and assess strategic and financial fit
  • Own due diligence workstreams and coordinate Finance, Legal, and Operations teams from term sheet through close
  • Prepare investment recommendation materials for senior leadership review
  • Lead post-acquisition integration progress and track synergy realization
  • Manage top-of-funnel business development, including lead sourcing, qualification, and relationship building
  • Build and maintain an enterprise prospect pipeline through outreach, referrals, research, and CRM tools
  • Serve as the primary early-stage contact for prospective partners
  • Support long-range strategic planning with business unit and corporate leaders
  • Lead targeted strategy projects from scoping through execution
  • Use company-provided tools, systems, and AI technologies in daily work

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (required); MBA a plus
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • 5+ years in M&A, partnerships, or business development
  • Property and Casualty Insurance industry experience strongly preferred; home services, utilities, or B2B SaaS experience also valued
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating acquisition opportunities strategically and financially
  • Experience managing day-to-day execution of transactions
  • Track record of driving results on critical initiatives over 12+ months
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Clear, concise, and persuasive written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting recommendations to senior leaders
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and operate with wide latitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience building enterprise business development pipelines and early-stage relationships preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or startup environment preferred
