About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and develop Ponsse’s global procurement function, covering product-related direct procurement and non-product-related procurement
  • Ensure that procurement supports Ponsse’s business targets, competitiveness, product cost management, quality, delivery performance and long-term strategic development
  • Be part of the Operations Leadership Team and report to the Chief Operations Officer
  • Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, product management, quality and other key functions to ensure procurement decisions support customer value, compliance and operational excellence
  • Lead the development and execution of Ponsse’s procurement strategy and processes, including supplier selection and leading supplier relationships
  • Drive cost competitiveness, supplier performance, risk management, contract management and compliance across procurement
  • Ensure procurement practices support Ponsse’s values, industry standards, sustainability targets and responsible business conduct

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business or another relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record in a similar senior procurement leadership role, preferably in an international industrial or manufacturing company
  • People leadership experience is required
  • Ability to lead and develop procurement strategies, supplier management models, category management, contract management and procurement processes
  • Understanding of heavy-duty machinery, industrial manufacturing, supply chains and global supplier markets is beneficial
  • Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance cost, quality, delivery, risk and sustainability
  • Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluency in English and Finnish; other languages are an advantage
