About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and develop Ponsse’s global procurement function, covering product-related direct procurement and non-product-related procurement
Ensure that procurement supports Ponsse’s business targets, competitiveness, product cost management, quality, delivery performance and long-term strategic development
Be part of the Operations Leadership Team and report to the Chief Operations Officer
Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, product management, quality and other key functions to ensure procurement decisions support customer value, compliance and operational excellence
Lead the development and execution of Ponsse’s procurement strategy and processes, including supplier selection and leading supplier relationships
Drive cost competitiveness, supplier performance, risk management, contract management and compliance across procurement
Ensure procurement practices support Ponsse’s values, industry standards, sustainability targets and responsible business conduct

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business or another relevant field, or equivalent experience
Proven track record in a similar senior procurement leadership role, preferably in an international industrial or manufacturing company
People leadership experience is required
Ability to lead and develop procurement strategies, supplier management models, category management, contract management and procurement processes
Understanding of heavy-duty machinery, industrial manufacturing, supply chains and global supplier markets is beneficial
Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance cost, quality, delivery, risk and sustainability
Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
Willingness to travel
Fluency in English and Finnish; other languages are an advantage
