About the role

  • Responsible for budget, labor, equipment, tooling and process of new welded products
  • Work closely with product engineering and design
  • Manage budget, schedule and acquisition of new weld tooling
  • Research automation techniques, test new systems for efficiency
  • Analyze manufacturing methods, process flow and equipment utilization
  • Develop and qualify welding specifications, standards and guidelines
  • Participate in supplier runoffs, factory acceptance testing (FAT)

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • Weld Engineering or Weld Technology degree preferred
  • 3-7 years of Mfg. Engineering experience
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge is desirable
  • 3-5 years of Applied Weld Engineering experience required
  • Automation and process flow background
  • Extensive knowledge in the GMAW process and resistance spot welding
  • Proficiency with PCs (MS Office) and CAD software
