About the role
- Responsible for budget, labor, equipment, tooling and process of new welded products
- Work closely with product engineering and design
- Manage budget, schedule and acquisition of new weld tooling
- Research automation techniques, test new systems for efficiency
- Analyze manufacturing methods, process flow and equipment utilization
- Develop and qualify welding specifications, standards and guidelines
- Participate in supplier runoffs, factory acceptance testing (FAT)
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
- Weld Engineering or Weld Technology degree preferred
- 3-7 years of Mfg. Engineering experience
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge is desirable
- 3-5 years of Applied Weld Engineering experience required
- Automation and process flow background
- Extensive knowledge in the GMAW process and resistance spot welding
- Proficiency with PCs (MS Office) and CAD software
