Support Engineer

• We’re hiring a Technical Support Lead to design, scale and elevate Polar’s support function to provide exceptional support to developers worldwide.
• You will play a key role in shaping how support operates at Polar - defining what great developer and founder support looks like and building the systems, workflows and guardrails that make it repeatable and scalable.
• You enjoy working hands-on with developers to resolve support requests and ensure customers succeed with Polar. At the same time, you naturally identify patterns across tickets and translate those insights into better operational systems, processes and tooling that continuously improve how we serve our customers.
• You will lead Polar’s support function from day one, managing the existing support team while building the systems and standards that allow it to scale.
• Over time, you will continue growing the team (full-time and part-time) to deliver high-quality support across time zones with clear processes, consistent quality and measurable goals.
• This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with customers to ensure their success, and building the operational foundations that allow a support function to scale alongside a fast-growing developer platform.
• Engage directly with developers by responding to support tickets across integrations, billing, payouts and product issues. Maintain a strong feedback loop with engineering and product teams to ensure customer insights translate into product improvements.
• Design and implement workflows, support SLAs, prioritization frameworks, escalation paths and operational processes across engineering, compliance and risk. Build systems that allow support to operate predictably and efficiently as Polar grows.
• Own and evolve the support tooling stack, identifying opportunities for automation and improved workflows that reduce operational load while improving response quality and consistency.
• Establish structured and risk-aware processes for reviewing merchant accounts against acceptable use policies, risk thresholds and compliance requirements.
• Reproduce issues, file high-quality internal tickets, identify recurring friction points and create structured feedback loops that help engineering and product teams eliminate systemic problems.
• Engage across GitHub, Discord and other community surfaces to ensure developers receive timely and consistent support across all interaction points.
• Work with the team to establish the principles, response standards and operational benchmarks that define great support at Polar, and continuously raise the bar as the company scales.
• Recruit, onboard and manage a distributed team of support agents (full-time and part-time), ensuring consistent support quality, operational efficiency and strong customer outcomes.

Technical Support Lead

Engineer

• Strengthen Our Payments & Billing Architecture: Partner with the team to design and evolve subscription logic, pricing models, invoicing, transaction flows, refunds, disputes and payouts - while introducing rigorous financial systems thinking around idempotency, state management, ledger integrity, reconciliation, settlement consistency and failure handling to ensure correctness across the full payment lifecycle.
• Build Merchant-facing Payment Experiences: Design and ship intuitive dashboards, onboarding flows, billing configuration and APIs - backed by robust payment primitives and backend infrastructure.
• Improve Reliability & Observability: Strengthen monitoring, testing and rollback mechanisms for critical financial flows. Ensure we can detect inconsistencies, reconciliation issues and failures quickly and resolve them safely.
• Collaborate Across Product & Compliance: Work closely with product, support and legal to translate regulatory requirements and acceptable use constraints into well-designed enforcement systems.
• Evolve our PSP & Infrastructure Integrations: Refine how we integrate with payment service providers and external financial partners, designing abstractions that reduce coupling while maintaining flexibility across payment methods, regions and providers.

• We’re hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to architect and evolve the Polar platform - ensuring the system remains fast, resilient and operationally sound as we scale.
• Ensure Platform Reliability & Uptime: Design and evolve systems that maintain high availability, predictable performance and operational stability.
• Engineer for Scale & Performance: Strengthen how our distributed services behave under load.
• Advance SRE & DevOps Practices: Embed reliability engineering practices across the platform.
• Evolve Cloud & Infrastructure Systems: Continuously evolve Polar’s infrastructure baseline.
• Strengthen Deployment & Operational Safety: Refine CI/CD systems, rollout strategies and rollback mechanisms.
• Improve Observability & Debuggability: Advance logging, metrics and tracing standards.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Risk & Legal: Work closely with product and infrastructure engineers, as well as risk and legal stakeholders.

Senior Platform Engineer

Compliance

• Build and strengthen the regulatory systems underpinning Polar’s platform - ensuring compliance, policy enforcement and auditability are embedded directly into our product architecture as we scale globally.
• Partner with the team and legal counsel to design and refine how regulatory requirements are implemented across onboarding, billing, payouts and the merchant lifecycle - increasing systemic integrity as the platform scales.
• Translate risk policies, thresholds and monitoring rules into deterministic systems - ensuring enforcement decisions are consistent, explainable and automated across the platform.
• Improve observability, traceability and explainability across compliance-sensitive systems. Ensure enforcement decisions and lifecycle state changes are reviewable, measurable and resilient.
• Partner with product, support, financial operations and legal to translate regulatory obligations and acceptable use constraints into well-designed workflows and platform safeguards.
• Identify and ship structural improvements that reduce regulatory exposure — including merchant onboarding controls, transaction monitoring systems, acceptable-use enforcement pipelines and safeguards required to support expansion into new jurisdictions and payment ecosystems.
