Systems Engineer

• Own the Navigation Engine and Platform
• Lead design, implementation, and optimization of the core navigation engine across a wide range of hardware platforms, devices, and customer applications.
• Conceptualize and architect solutions that integrate GNSS receivers, inertial sensors, wheel odometry, cameras, and other hardware - with abstractions that scale across diverse deployments.
• Break down high-level work descriptions into concrete tasks, schedules, and milestones, and hold yourself accountable for delivering against them.
• Drive performance tuning and low-level optimizations across a range of platforms - from Linux-based devices (ARM and x86) to bare-metal microcontroller environments.
• Ensure the software stack is well-structured, maintainable, and built to last as the product and customer base grow.
• Drive Hardware Integration and Bring-Up
• Own board bring-up, driver development, and hardware validation for new platforms and peripherals.
• Work hands-on with hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN) and debugging tools (gdb, JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes).
• Identify and resolve timing-critical and hardware-software interaction issues early in the integration process.
• Respond to Customer and Market Challenges
• Engage directly with evolving customer needs and translate them into well-designed, durable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing teams to deliver reliable end-to-end systems.
• Surface technical risks and tradeoffs early so architecture and delivery decisions reflect real-world constraints.
• Own Testing and Verification
• Design and maintain rigorous testing and verification strategies across the navigation engine and supported hardware platforms.
• Treat test coverage as a first-class engineering responsibility - ensuring the team and customers have confidence in every release.
• Identify gaps in coverage proactively, particularly as new platforms, sensors, or customer configurations are added.
• Raise the Technical Bar
• Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices across the team.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, technical strategy, and roadmap planning.

Staff Embedded Software Engineer

Computer Vision Engineer

• Staff Computer Vision Engineers are responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle of Point One’s spatial AI and visual navigation features, overseeing everything from initial camera integration and image processing to high-level architectural and algorithmic design.
• You will conceptualize and drive complex technical challenges end-to-end - from early architecture through deployment in mission-critical systems - while raising the technical bar across the team.
• Designing solutions robust to visually challenging environments, optimizing models for compute-constrained edge devices, and ensuring our algorithms stay thoroughly tested, verified, and production-ready as we scale.
• Successful translation of state-of-the-art CV and SLAM techniques into highly performant, production-grade algorithms.
• Establishing rigorous benchmarking pipelines to objectively evaluate internal algorithms against commercial OTS solutions and vendor offerings.
• Automatically generating and maintaining accurate, semantically rich maps of complex indoor environments with minimal manual intervention.
• Ensuring real-time localization and multi-agent tracking (assets, robots, people) are highly robust, minimizing latency and identity switches even in dynamic or visually degraded conditions.
• Collaborating tightly with infrastructure and UI engineers to manage data products, render maps, and track assets for end users.

Staff Computer Vision Engineer

Backend Engineer

• Own Backend Services and APIs
• Lead design, implementation, and optimization of backend services that power the RTK Corrections Network and customer-facing APIs.
• Build and evolve API-first services that are clear, well-documented, and reliable for internal and external developers.
• Break down high-level goals into concrete tasks, schedules, and milestones, and hold yourself accountable for delivering against them.
• Drive performance and efficiency improvements across the request path - latency, throughput, and cost.
• Ensure the service stack is well-structured, maintainable, and built to last as the product and customer base grow.
• Scale the RTK Corrections Network
• Own the ingestion, processing, and distribution of GNSS correction data from reference stations to devices in the field.
• Design streaming and connectivity paths (e.g., NTRIP and similar protocols) that deliver corrections reliably and at low latency.
• Expand network capacity and coverage as new regions, stations, and customers come online.
• Build Reliable Distributed Systems
• Design for high availability, graceful degradation, and recovery under partial failure.
• Own observability - metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting - so issues are caught and resolved before customers feel them.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and reliability risks early, particularly as traffic and scale grow.
• Respond to Customer and Market Challenges
• Engage directly with evolving customer needs and translate them into well-designed, durable technical solutions.

• Own Infrastructure as Code
• Provision and manage cloud, on-premise, and bare-metal infrastructure using Terraform and SaltStack configuration management.
• Build reproducible, version-controlled environments that are easy to stand up, evolve, and tear down.
• Break down high-level goals into concrete tasks, schedules, and milestones, and hold yourself accountable for delivering against them.
• Ensure infrastructure is well-structured, documented, and built to last as the product and customer base grow.
• Automate Deployment and Delivery
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) that make shipping fast, safe, and repeatable.
• Containerize services with Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes across environments.
• Drive improvements in build, test, and release workflows so engineers can deliver with confidence.
• Standardize deployment patterns and reduce toil through tooling and automation.
• Operate Reliable Systems
• Own observability - metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana) - so issues are caught and resolved before customers feel them.
• Design for high availability, graceful degradation, and recovery across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Identify and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks and reliability risks early, particularly as traffic and scale grow.
