About the role
- Draft and contribute to European grant proposals, particularly Horizon Europe
- Take ownership of key proposal sections (Excellence, Impact, Implementation)
- Support the preparation of UK national grant applications (e.g. Innovate UK, UKRI)
- Structure complex technical input into clear, persuasive narratives
- Ensure full alignment with call objectives and evaluation criteria
- Coordinate inputs from internal teams and external stakeholders
- Manage multiple proposals in parallel while meeting tight deadlines
- Continuously improve proposal quality based on evaluator feedback
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in grant writing, with a strong focus on European funding
- Demonstrated experience drafting EU proposals (Horizon Europe strongly preferred)
- Excellent written English, with strong structuring and storytelling skills
- Experience taking writing ownership, not only coordination or support
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote-first environment
- Experience with UK national grants (Innovate UK, UKRI) is a strong plus
- Consultancy or innovation advisory background is an advantage
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
