About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development and execution of category strategies aligned with enterprise objectives
- Drive complex RFx events from ideation through contract execution
- Act as a subject matter expert and advise senior stakeholders on sourcing decisions
- Identify and implement innovative sourcing solutions and operational improvements
- Liaise between business units and Supply Chain Management
- Lead steering committees and governance forums
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Negotiate high-value, complex contracts with a focus on risk management and compliance
- Oversee contract lifecycle management, renewals, and pipeline prioritization
- Research, evaluate, negotiate, and select suppliers for high-quality, cost-effective goods and services
- Request and review complex vendor proposals
- Prepare supplier strategies, deal strategies, financial analyses, category strategies, and other sourcing artifacts
- Develop and monitor purchasing strategies and initiate departmental improvements
- Manage multiple strategic projects and present recommendations to executive leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- University/college degree, typically a bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
- Comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively at all organizational levels, including executive leadership
- Proficiency with ERP, Source-to-Pay systems, preferably Ariba, and risk management tools
- Deep understanding of financial services industry products and services
- Advanced experience sourcing technology solutions, including software, SaaS, infrastructure, and network services
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a track record of measurable results
- Knowledge of procurement, purchasing management, sourcing strategies, supplier management, supplier selection, vendor relationships, and vendor risk management
- Competency in contracts review, cost-benefit analysis, decision making, critical thinking, effective communications, industry knowledge, influencing, negotiating, and procurement
- No required certification
- No required license
- Must not require employment visa sponsorship; PNC will not participate in STEM OPT
- Subject to applicable FDIA, SAFE Act, and/or FINRA requirements for registered roles
