About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate, respond to, and mitigate alerts from the SIEM and cybersecurity product suite, including IDS/IPS
- Tune SIEM events to reduce false positives
- Improve network visibility through extensive testing
- Provide operational support for the institution as a representative of the security organization
- Apply security concepts, review information and logs, execute defined tasks, and create documentation
- Perform investigations, data loss prevention, data manipulation, and activity coordination
- Address or mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities
- Review and define security controls
- Advise clients, security administrators, and network operations on complex security procedures and products
- Participate in enforcement of controls against security risks and threats
- Share knowledge with staff
- Conduct security assessments and information security routines
- Investigate and recommend corrective actions for data security issues
- Develop policies and procedures to standardize security functions and eliminate vulnerabilities and threats
- Oversee that business needs are met during development
Requirements
What you’ll need- University/college degree typically required at this level
- 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
- Comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, and cybersecurity products
- Subject matter expertise in Intrusion Detection Systems and Intrusion Prevention Systems
- Knowledge of access control, information security, network security, packet capture analysis, physical security, risk assessments, and security technologies
- Competencies in analytical thinking, effective communications, information assurance, information security management, information security technologies, IT environment, IT standards/procedures/policies, IT systems management, problem solving, and software security assurance
- No required certification
- No required license
- Must be eligible to work without employment visa sponsorship; PNC will not provide employment visa sponsorship or participate in STEM OPT
- Position subject to FDIA Section 19 requirements regarding certain criminal histories
