About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
  • Build and support scalable, secure, and resilient microservices-based architectures
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs and service integrations for internal and external business applications
  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams on technical solutions
  • Lead technical design and implementation of complex software initiatives
  • Drive coding best practices, design standards, and code review activities
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and operational stability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while implementing long-term solutions
  • Participate in Agile processes including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to the engineering team’s technical growth
  • Support DevOps and CI/CD processes for software delivery and deployment
  • Provide detailed technical design and development of software solutions
  • Propose and design solutions for complex business needs
  • Write, test, and deploy software
  • Prepare technical and procedural software documentation
  • Maintain and debug software

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java
  • Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot
  • Strong hands-on experience with microservices architecture
  • Strong hands-on experience with RESTful API development
  • Experience developing distributed, high-throughput, and highly available systems
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
  • Experience with application performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies
  • Experience with cloud-based environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a nice-to-have qualification
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a nice-to-have qualification
  • Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar event-driven architectures is a nice-to-have qualification
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices is a nice-to-have qualification
  • Experience in financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries is a nice-to-have qualification
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering best practices is a nice-to-have qualification
  • Hands-on Agile/Scrum experience is a nice-to-have qualification
  • No employment visa sponsorship or STEM OPT participation
