About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and support scalable, secure, and resilient microservices-based architectures
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and service integrations for internal and external business applications
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams on technical solutions
- Lead technical design and implementation of complex software initiatives
- Drive coding best practices, design standards, and code review activities
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and operational stability
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while implementing long-term solutions
- Participate in Agile processes including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the engineering team’s technical growth
- Support DevOps and CI/CD processes for software delivery and deployment
- Provide detailed technical design and development of software solutions
- Propose and design solutions for complex business needs
- Write, test, and deploy software
- Prepare technical and procedural software documentation
- Maintain and debug software
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot
- Strong hands-on experience with microservices architecture
- Strong hands-on experience with RESTful API development
- Experience developing distributed, high-throughput, and highly available systems
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
- Experience with application performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies
- Experience with cloud-based environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a nice-to-have qualification
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a nice-to-have qualification
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar event-driven architectures is a nice-to-have qualification
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices is a nice-to-have qualification
- Experience in financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries is a nice-to-have qualification
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering best practices is a nice-to-have qualification
- Hands-on Agile/Scrum experience is a nice-to-have qualification
