About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a team overseeing the day-to-day operations and effectiveness of assigned security technology and programs
- Manage resources that enable security control effectiveness across teams and technology
- Monitor trends and continuously assess staff and security-system capabilities against business demands
- Lead policy development, audit mitigation, and tasks related to infrastructure security and operational health
- Evaluate security systems, teams, and processes and recommend actions to maintain continuity and operational health
- Document and revise procedures and playbooks to establish standard security practices and increase team effectiveness
- Lead individual contributors performing SOC alert evaluation, response, and mitigation
- Support SIEM tuning to reduce false positives
- Extract indicators of compromise and behavioral characteristics from malicious samples and implement mitigations
- Scope security events and ensure appropriate remediation
- Provide operational support for the institution as a representative of the security organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior management or lead experience
- Typically 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
- At least 3 years of prior management experience typically required
- University/college degree typically required, or a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Knowledge of security technologies including SIEM and EDR
- Experience evaluating, responding to, and mitigating alerts from SIEM and cybersecurity products
- Ability to tune SIEM events to reduce false positives
- Ability to extract indicators of compromise and behavioral characteristics from malicious samples
- Ability to scope events and determine appropriate remediation steps
- Subject matter expertise in one or more SOC functions
- Knowledge of access control, building architecture, customer solutions, disaster recovery planning, information security, network security, physical security, risk assessments, and security technologies
- Competencies in data governance, information assurance, information security management, information security technologies, IT environment, IT standards, procedures and policies, and organizational knowledge
- No required certifications
- No required licenses
- Must be able to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship; PNC will not provide sponsorship or participate in STEM OPT
