About the role
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Hadoop and Python.
- Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various banking systems.
- Collaborate with data analysts, product managers, and senior engineers to deliver secure and compliant data solutions.
- Assist in the integration of structured and unstructured data sources into the bank’s data lake.
- Support data quality, lineage, and governance initiatives.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Document technical processes and contribute to internal knowledge bases.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in Python programming and SQL.
- Basic understanding of Hadoop ecosystem (e.g., HDFS, Hive, Spark).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, GLBA).
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Exposure to banking data types (e.g., transactions, customer profiles, risk metrics).
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
