About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle incoming network security policy requests not limited to network firewall, micro segmentation, proxy, and web application firewall
- Additionally, be available (on-call) to handle break fix scenarios
- Engineer will also participate in standup efforts and projects that require more involvement than a typical request engagement
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
- Networking knowledge
- Subnets/terminology routers, switches, VLANs, VRFs, routing
- Troubleshooting (following the packet)
- Network Security Firewalls such as Fortinet
- Micro segmentation
- Proxy (basic understanding/function)
- VPN tunnels
- Least privilege enforcement
- Scripting knowledge (python is a great PLUS)
- Server architecture knowledge (Web/app/db and communication layouts)
- Understanding enterprise supporting infrastructure such as: Load balancers, DNS, BGP, Provisioning and Orchestration, Containers/Kubernetes, Databases, User connectivity, Proxy, Remote access connectivity
- Load testing
