About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and support hybrid infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments
- Lead and execute cloud migration initiatives
- Configure, manage, and optimize VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms
- Implement and maintain IAM solutions, including Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
- Align infrastructure and operational practices with FedRAMP, NIST, and FISMA requirements
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity
- Identify opportunities for optimization, scalability, and security enhancement
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement Zero Trust security principles
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational standards
- Develop software components and hardware for projects aligned with business strategies
- Independently solve common problems and update applications with new technology
- Analyze customer technological needs and provide ongoing client support
- Occasionally travel to data centers, government facilities, or client locations
- Apply solution design and support while meeting customer needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- University / college degree typically required
- 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience
- A comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong expertise in Windows Server, Linux, and core networking concepts
- Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting using PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and implementation
- Experience supporting federal government IT environments
- Practical knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST standards
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing workloads in Azure Government Cloud or AWS GovCloud
- Industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, VMware, Security+, CISSP, or related credentials
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills
- Must not require employment visa sponsorship; PNC will not participate in STEM OPT
- Subject to additional background checks required by the specific government client contract
