About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish the strategic direction for communications and provide leadership on key initiatives, content/channels, and team work prioritization
- Develop and execute integrated communications plans and campaigns connecting paid, earned, shared, and owned channels
- Set communications strategy for PNC’s national brand, sponsorship, and entertainment-related storytelling
- Translate business, brand, and sponsorship priorities into compelling narratives for media, customers, employees, and stakeholders
- Elevate PNC’s brand story in mainstream consumer outlets
- Counsel executives and business partners on messaging, media engagement, visibility, and reputation
- Lead proactive media strategy, story development, reporter engagement, interview preparation, issues management, and impact measurement
- Use communications measurement and reputation tracking tools and translate insights into strategic recommendations
- Partner with marketing, communications, internal teams, external agencies, legal, compliance, finance, risk, and other stakeholders
- Identify opportunities related to sponsorships, brand platforms, market expansion, and cultural moments
- Manage and develop communications talent
- Plan, research, and develop content for complex communications initiatives
- Serve as a trusted communications advisor and ensure strategic alignment, clarity, and accuracy of messaging
- Leverage data-driven insights to influence business decisions
- Oversee coordination and execution of programs and initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- Typically 8+ years of industry-relevant experience
- Comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Knowledge of branding, change management, creative process, design thinking, digital marketing, media relations, prioritization, strategic communication planning, and strategic planning
- Competence in business acumen, copywriting and editing, effective communications, effectiveness measurement, media channel management, organizational communications, planning, and storytelling
- No required certifications
- No required licenses
- No required or preferred language assessments
- Must not require employment visa sponsorship or STEM OPT participation
- Subject to Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act and, for registered roles, SAFE Act and/or FINRA requirements
