About the role

  • Temporary, intermittent Resident Engineer/Clerk of the Works for PMA Consultants, expected duration 30 days.
  • Work on-site observations and daily reporting on progress during construction phase.
  • Monitor and coordinate testing and inspection services full-time during the construction phase.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Owner/Architect/OPM team to ensure project integrity and high-quality work product that meets contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Maintain records at the OPM’s on-site field office, including written and electronic correspondence, contract documents, change orders, change directives, reports, shop drawings, project data, and samples.
  • Work assigned and approved by local leadership in accordance with client needs.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of field construction project management typically acquired by a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years’ experience providing Resident Engineer/Clerk of the Works project support, or 15+ years of field experience on construction projects.
  • Demonstrated abilities in communications (both verbal and written), multi-tasking with a high degree of accuracy, and judgment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of E-Builder or the ability to learn.
  • Direct construction trade experience or knowledge is beneficial.
  • Prior municipal/public works project experience helpful.
  • Demonstrated record of timely job performance in support of normally expected construction work hours.
  • Ability to pass a CORI and background check is required.
  • Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
  • Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
