About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide pediatric and adult mental health therapy as part of a large, multi-disciplinary behavioral health team
  • Provide highest quality therapy services to patients
  • Participate in clinical team meetings with Urgent Care and MH staff
  • Maintain weekly scheduled therapy appointments
  • Complete required documentation and paperwork including clinical assessments, treatment planning, and updating of patient medical records within 48 hours of patient visits
  • Utilize standardized tools (PHQ9, GAD7 etc.) to identify patients that can benefit from ongoing MH services
  • Make rapid assessments and follow through on recommendations in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of various mental health issues and symptoms
  • Assist staff in UC to identify patients demonstrating mental health needs
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of child development
  • Assist families and staff who verbalize concerns to determine appropriate assessment and next steps
  • Able to professionally represent PM Mental Health when meeting with local providers, hospitals and payers
  • Make independent clinical decisions with a minimum of guidance
  • Demonstrates deep understanding to the intersection of mental health and physical health issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be independently licensed in state of practice
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding the roles of the healthcare team
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Deep understanding the psychosocial aspects of illness and health
  • Experience of community facilities and resources for discharge planning
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong crisis intervention skills
  • Excellent short-term counseling skills.
