About the role
- Leverage your experience and knowledge to help continue building the Field Engineering team’s processes and procedures that integrate and maintain Plus’s autonomous vehicle technology on internal and customer vehicles.
- Support autonomous vehicle testing and deployment with a comprehensive focus on remote monitoring, real-time intervention, and data logging.
- Provide hands-on vehicle readiness for complex demo drives and fleet maintenance activities.
- Support testing by riding in the vehicle to actively monitor system performance and sensor health.
- Execute live testing and mileage accumulation, rapidly troubleshoot issues that arise in the field, and document all findings through daily reports and actionable engineering tickets for cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- BS or MS in a STEM-related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Relevant work experience involving analysis, engineering, or technical system testing, preferably within the automotive or autonomous vehicle industry.
- Strong technical proficiency with Linux command line and experience using software version control systems (e.g., GIT).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker), scripting languages (Python, Bash), and automotive software-based diagnostic systems.
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Google Workspace and Atlassian (Jira/Confluence).
- Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work as a self-starter in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment and take on increased responsibility.
- Must be capable of safely lifting up to 80+ lbs and repeatedly entering/exiting vehicles as large as Class 8 (semi-trucks).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to rent a car for business travel.
