About the role
- Responsible for negotiating lowest total cost of ownership, terms for assigned commodities
- Support sites in achieving customer satisfaction with associated cost, quality, delivery, and working capital
- Collaborate to the lowest total cost of ownership sourcing solutions for assigned commodities
- Negotiation of supply side component contracts, purchase agreements & tooling awards (where applicable)
- Manage Supplier business review, and work with Supplier Quality Engineering on qualifying new supplier
- Support Business Units in the areas of: resolving quality issues, generating material cost reductions, assisting in supplier delivery problems, and implementation of supply chain strategies
- Manage the localization project until FA passes and localized parts move to volume production
- Understand Mechanical Drawings and associated commodities, GD&T, CEC Manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, machining, injection molding, castings, cables & wire harness are preferred
- Support NPI process, supplier evaluation and qualification, identify potential risks to success in cost, time lines, quality
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or equivalent work experience
- Procurement, supply chain, distribution, and logistics competence
- Strong experience driving KPIs
- Demonstrated commodity management expertise
- Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization
- Strong data analysis and decision-making capabilities
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Project management experience
