About the role

Partner with product and business teams to develop data strategies that enable new features and improve user experience
Drive key strategic projects across the organisation, providing leadership and hands-on support
Support multiple teams across Pleo in delivering impactful data and analytics solutions
Build data products that directly support Pleo's product roadmap and business goals
Collaborate with the VP of Data and other data leaders to set the vision for Pleo’s data strategy and ensure alignment with company objectives
Enhance data infrastructure and pipelines to improve scalability, performance, and data quality
Experiment with and implement innovative technologies to keep Pleo’s data stack current
Mentor engineers, analysts, and data scientists to foster growth and build a world-class data team
Lead projects such as implementing a data catalog, revamping data platform and dbt architecture, and supporting AI engineering strategy
Foster and grow an internal data Community of Practice to establish best practices and upskill peers

High proficiency in Python and SQL
Proven track record delivering high-quality data pipelines and products at scale
Experience designing, building, maintaining and scaling data platforms in both AWS and GCP ecosystems
Experience building data products for analytics and AI/ML applications
Expertise in designing systems and data architecture serving platform, product and analytics purposes
Experience with Airflow for orchestration and Kafka for event-driven processing
Experience with BigQuery, dbt and Looker
Experience with Kubernetes and hybrid cloud infrastructure
Experience in DataOps practices and working in data platform teams on organisation-wide initiatives
Ability to mentor engineers, analysts, and data scientists and act as a trusted technical leader
Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business challenges into scalable data solutions
Fluent English (applications must be submitted in English)
