About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build systems that power our automations platform.
Own major components for processing automated workflows.
Collaborate closely with DevOps, ML/AI, Customer Success, and UX teams.
Contribute to the design and evolution of our workflow automation system.
Implement scheduling, queuing, rate limiting, and retry logic.
Build components for state tracking, error handling, and cleanup across distributed tasks.
Enhance observability, structured logging, and deployment automation with DevOps.
Maintain integrations with SFTP, email, databases, spreadsheets, and REST APIs.
Develop file processing pipelines handling high data volumes.
Create and maintain webhook handlers, polling services, and event-driven workflows.
Own complex backend projects from design through deployment.
Participate in architectural discussions and help drive maintainability standards.
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.
Participate in incident response and postmortems with a focus on prevention.

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience with distributed systems, workflow orchestration, automated systems, and event-driven pipelines at scale.
Strong database expertise: SQL, schema design, and performance optimization.
Solid computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design).
Experience with large-scale data pipelines
Ability to take ownership of projects and collaborate effectively across engineering, DevOps, ML teams, and UX teams.
Proven experience improving reliability, performance, and maintainability in production systems.
Strong communication skills for technical discussions and documentation.
