About the role
- Animate game characters — idle loops, reactions, celebrations, transitions, and everything that gives a character personality
- Create UI and feedback animations — screen transitions, correct/incorrect states, progress moments, micro-interactions
- Upgrade existing rough animations into polished, production-ready motion
- Design animation that serves learning — making correct answers feel rewarding and wrong answers feel safe to try again
- Help develop animation style references and motion guidelines for new game projects
- Explore AI animation tools to accelerate workflows and experiment with new techniques
Requirements
- Strong grasp of animation fundamentals: timing, spacing, squash & stretch, anticipation, follow-through
- Proficiency in animation software: Adobe Animate, After Effects, Spine, or Rive
- A keen eye for art direction — you know what looks right, what feels off
- Sensitivity to animating for children: motion that's playful, encouraging, and never punishing
- Game feel awareness — your animations serve gameplay, not interrupt it
- Ability to work with minimal guidance — you take a brief and run with it!
- Nice to Have: Experience with AI animation tools or AI-assisted motion workflows
- Illustration or character design ability
- Prior experience animating for EdTech, children's products, or 2D games
- Understanding of animation implementation in game engines (Unity or any web-based framework)
