Account Executive – Basketball
PlayerDataAccount Executive focusing on NCAA basketball programs with sales strategy and relationship management. Driving performance technology sales while engaging with key stakeholders in the basketball community.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute a targeted sales plan focused on NCAA and high school basketball programs.
- Manage the entire sales cycle — from prospecting and discovery to proposal, negotiation, and close — using proven, structured sales processes.
- Utilize your network, events, webinars, tournaments & sales outreach to gain introductions to key prospects and drive inbound traffic.
- Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting in CRM platforms like Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Build and maintain strong relationships and be active in the basketball community — attending practices, prep school showcases, and conference tournaments — to stay visible and connected.
- Stay current on trends in basketball performance technology, athlete monitoring, and data-driven coaching.
- Understand where we win, and be able to clearly articulate the benefits of using PlayerData to prospects.
- Represent PlayerData at coaching clinics and industry events as a credible, trusted voice in performance technology.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep relationships with college and high school basketball performance, and coaching staff.
- A genuine understanding of the basketball ecosystem, how programs operate, how buying decisions are made, and what coaches and performance staff actually care about.
- Comfortable learning and demonstrating a technical product in a high stakes environment.
- Comfortable getting stuff done in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and resourcefulness is a competitive advantage.
- A court-oriented professional who loves being around the game, traveling around 50% of the time to programs, and building relationships face-to-face.
- Passionate about sports, coaching, and athlete development.
- You must bring a couple of years of experience as a strength and conditioning coach or on the bench (ideally in the NCAA) with a deep understanding of performance technology.
- You must have been a high achieving AE and know a sales motion, but the product and people you are working with don’t get you bouncing out of bed.
