About the role

  • You will take independent responsibility for providing legal advice on contractual matters and for developing negotiation strategies for the business units and areas of the Business Division PLATH Systems & Integration in all relevant project (and acquisition) phases.
  • Drafting, reviewing, structuring and negotiating contracts under civil and public law.
  • Coordinating and handling contract arrangements with customers, suppliers and other contracting parties.
  • Coordinating the legal team during contract negotiation phases and serving as a member of the negotiation team.
  • Early analysis and assessment of tenders and awards for legal risks and corresponding mitigation measures.
  • Enforcing contractual rights in key projects.
  • Developing policy rules and directives for the conclusion of contracts.
  • Actively ensuring division-internal approval processes.
  • Responsible for all contractual aspects of change order/claims management and for developing project- and supplier-specific claim strategies.
  • Coordinating the timely preparation of claims as requested by the relevant technical departments.
  • Determining claims, positioning them vis-à-vis customers and suppliers, and negotiating them.
  • Identifying contractual risks and clearly defining assumptions, boundary conditions and delimitations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Law or a Law degree.
  • Professional experience in a commercial enterprise or in a law firm focused on business law with an emphasis on contract law, ideally with international experience.
  • Extensive negotiation experience with international B2B and B2G stakeholders.
  • Experience with international law in the defense and security sector is desirable.
  • Strong team orientation, openness and excellent communication skills.
  • Informal leadership experience of interdisciplinary teams, particularly in the substantive coordination and training of negotiation teams.
  • High willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Independent, pragmatic and goal-oriented working style.
  • Business-fluent English and very good IT skills (MS Office); French skills are an advantage.
